Let’s Drive is a Greek rental company with stations serving Athens and Thessaloniki airports and the big holiday islands, from Heraklion and Chania on Crete to Rhodes, Corfu and Santorini. If you are reading Let’s Drive car rental reviews before you book, your questions are probably practical ones: who is behind the brand, how do I get from the terminal to the car, which card do I need for the deposit and what does the cover include? This guide answers each one from the company’s own terms, FAQ and station pages.

All rules below were checked on letsdrive.gr on 30 September and 1 October 2026; your own rental agreement always has the final word. Several unrelated businesses share the name, so note that this guide is about the Greek company at letsdrive.gr.

Who is Let’s Drive?

Let’s Drive is a member of the GELASAKIS Group of Companies, a private Greek business group active in tourism, shipping and hospitality, and a member of the Hellenic Car Rental Association. The group holds ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 27001 certifications, according to the about page.

Besides holiday rentals, the brand runs two other lines:

  • Let’s Drive Flex: rental from 1 to 12 months for a monthly fee that includes maintenance, basic insurance and roadside assistance, cancellable with 15 days’ notice.
  • Let’s Drive Mobility: a franchise programme for existing or new rental businesses that want to work under the Let’s Drive name.

Let’s Drive car rental reviews: what travellers value

In traveller reviews of Let’s Drive, the same points of praise come up again and again:

  • Kind, helpful staff.
  • New, clean cars in good condition.
  • A quick handover once you reach the office.

Three things make any Let’s Drive pickup straightforward: a physical credit card in the main driver’s name, an arrival within opening hours (or a message to the station if your flight is late), and knowing the route from the terminal to the office. The sections below cover each of them.

Where Let’s Drive operates

On 1 October 2026 the booking engine on letsdrive.gr listed 33 pickup points: 27 in Greece, 5 in Albania and 1 in Cyprus.

The port stations suit island hoppers who arrive by ferry.

Airport pickup: shuttle, short walk or meet and greet

The Let’s Drive booking system holds pickup instructions for each station. On 30 September 2026 they read as follows:

  • Athens (ATH): leave arrivals through exit 5 and walk right to the bus parking area. The shuttle, which carries the Let’s Drive and Carwiz logos according to the FAQ, takes you to the office on Koropiou Markopoulou Avenue, about 10 minutes away.
  • Heraklion (HER): leave the arrivals hall, turn right through the small gate and cross the main road to the bus stop with the wooden kiosk. The shuttle takes you to the office, 2 minutes away.
  • Chania (CHQ): no shuttle needed. Leave the main building, turn left and walk about 150 metres: the office is on the left, in the rental car parking area.
  • Rhodes (RHO): the shuttle collects you just outside the arrivals terminal for a 2 minute ride to the office.
  • Corfu (CFU): leave Arrivals Area A, turn left and follow the path to the main road. The office is directly across it.
  • Thessaloniki (SKG): walk about 100 metres straight ahead to parking area 5, where the buses park. A representative holding a Let’s Drive sign meets you there. The office is at kilometre 14 of the Thessaloniki to Perea road.
  • Santorini (JTR): leave the terminal, turn right and after 50 metres turn left. The instructions direct you to the Carwiz office, 100 metres further on.

Returns are at the same office; in Athens, Heraklion and Thessaloniki the shuttle then takes you to the terminal, so allow extra time. Routes can change: always follow your own voucher.

Opening hours, late flights and late returns

The station pages for all seven airports above list the same hours: every day from 08:00 to 22:00. Collecting or returning the car between 22:00 and 08:00 adds an out-of-hours charge of €40 per rental. With a late flight, let the station know in advance and keep your phone on after landing, as the FAQ asks.

Returning late has a cost too. The terms charge 20% of the daily rate per hour, while the FAQ says you have 2 hours of extra time and pay a full extra day after that. If your return might run late, ask the station which rule applies to your booking.

The deposit: a physical credit card in the driver’s name

Get this rule right before you fly. According to the terms and FAQ:

  • At pickup, a refundable deposit is blocked on a credit card in the main driver’s name, and you must show the card itself.
  • Cash and debit cards are not accepted for the deposit. The terms accept Visa and Mastercard, not Diners Club or American Express.
  • A booking made on letsdrive.gr can be paid online by credit or debit card, but the credit card in the driver’s name is still needed at the desk.
  • The deposit equals the excess of your cover, with a minimum of €250, also with Total cover.
  • It is released after the rental if there are no fines, uncovered damage or breaches of the terms.

Two consequences are easy to miss. If you cannot show a valid credit card in the driver’s name with enough limit for the deposit, the terms treat the booking as a no-show, with no refund. And because the deposit follows the cover you take with Let’s Drive, a separate excess policy bought at home does not lower the amount blocked on your card. Our guide to deposit and excess on a rental car explains how the two relate.

Cover: Basic, Medium and Total

Let’s Drive offers three cover levels. Basic, included in the price, is CDW with theft protection, which limits your share of covered damage or theft to the excess of your car group. Medium adds MCDW, which lowers that excess to between €400 and €800, plus personal accident insurance. Total adds SCDW, which takes the excess to zero, plus personal accident insurance and roadside assistance.

Excess amounts and daily charges from the terms, including 24% VAT:

Car groupBasic excessMCDW (Medium)SCDW (Total)
Mini, Economy, Cabrio€800€400 excess, €10 a day€0 excess, €15 a day
Compact, Intermediate€1,000€500 excess, €12 a day€0 excess, €16 a day
Intermediate SUV, SUV€1,200€600 excess, €13 a day€0 excess, €18 a day
Premium€1,500€700 excess, €15 a day€0 excess, €20 a day
Minivan, 7 or 9 seats€1,700€800 excess, €15 a day€0 excess, €20 a day

Good to know before you drive off: according to the FAQ, no cover level includes damage to the chassis, wheels, interior or windows, and no Let’s Drive insurance covers lost keys. Total cover includes scratches on the outer plastic part of a mirror, but not the mirror glass or a badly damaged mirror. Changing a flat tyre is the driver’s job, and roadside assistance can help, possibly for a fee.

Fuel, roads and ferries

Fuel. The rule is same level: return the car with the fuel level you received, which is not always full, and photograph the gauge at both ends. Our fuel policy guide compares this rule with full-to-full.

Roads. The cars may only be driven on asphalt: city and provincial roads, national roads and motorways. Unpaved roads and off-road tracks are not allowed with any car group, unless the authorities divert you around a roadblock. If a beach on your list is reached by a dirt track, park on the asphalt and walk the last part.

Ferries and borders. Taking the car out of Greece, or moving it by boat or any other means, needs written permission from Let’s Drive. On an island-hopping trip, the usual approach is to travel as a foot passenger and rent again on the next island, as our guide to renting a car in Greece explains. Towing a trailer or another car is not allowed.

Driver age and documents

  • Minimum age: 21.
  • Young driver fee: €10 a day for drivers up to 23 years old.
  • Senior driver fee: €10 a day for drivers aged 74 to 78.
  • Driving licence: issued at least 1 year before the rental date. Non-EU citizens, including UK and US travellers, need an international driving licence as well as a valid national licence.
  • At the desk: passport, driving licence and the credit card in the main driver’s name.

More in our guides to documents for renting a car abroad and the young driver fee.

Let’s Drive cancellation policy

For bookings made directly with Let’s Drive:

  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup.
  • Cancelling within 48 hours costs €55, within 24 hours €70. If you prepaid less than €70, there is no extra charge and no refund.
  • A no-show gets no refund. That includes not turning up at the agreed time and place, or arriving without the required documents or a valid credit card.

If you booked through a third party such as Vrooem, check the cancellation conditions in that booking.

Larnaca: Let’s Drive in Cyprus

Larnaca is the only Let’s Drive pickup point in Cyprus. On 30 September 2026 the pickup instructions sent travellers to the upper floor of the terminal (the departures level), because the lower floor was closed. Opposite the exit is Costa Coffee, where a shuttle leaves every 30 minutes for the office at Eleftherias 30 in Dromolaxia, about 3 minutes away. Returns are at the same office.

The terms quoted in this guide are written for Greece (they quote 24% VAT and refer to Greek traffic law), so deposit and excess amounts in Cyprus can differ: check the amounts shown with your car before you book. Cyprus drives on the left, which our guide to renting a car in Cyprus covers in full.

Pickup and return checklist

  1. Pack the physical Visa or Mastercard credit card in the main driver’s name, with room for the deposit of your cover level.
  2. Bring your passport and licence, plus an international driving licence if you are not an EU citizen.
  3. Before signing, compare the car with the damage diagram on the agreement and have any missing mark added: by signing the Let’s Drive agreement, you confirm that you examined the car and found it in excellent condition.
  4. Film one slow lap around the car, with close-ups of the wheels and windows (not covered by any Let’s Drive cover level), the fuel gauge and the odometer.
  5. On your return day, arrive within opening hours, wait for the inspection, ask for the signed check-in sheet and film the same lap again.

Where you can book Let’s Drive on Vrooem

On Vrooem, Let’s Drive cars are available at eight airports: Athens, Thessaloniki, Heraklion, Chania, Rhodes, Corfu and Santorini in Greece, and Larnaca in Cyprus. In our searches on 30 September 2026, Vrooem also showed Green Motion and Surprice at each of these airports, plus U-Save at Larnaca, so you can put the cars and their conditions side by side. Our guides to Green Motion and Surprice explain how those two work. Each Vrooem booking also includes a free travel eSIM: with data working as you land, you can pull up the pickup route for your airport on the walk to the shuttle stop.

Our verdict

Let’s Drive combines a wide network across the mainland, Crete and the islands with clearly published rules: a deposit equal to your excess, three cover levels down to zero excess and a same-level fuel rule. Bring a physical credit card, follow the pickup route for your airport and plan around the opening hours, and your Greek road trip starts smoothly.
